What To Cook And Bake In Your Autumn Outdoor Kitchen From Shasta

When people think of outdoor kitchens, they think of warm summer days. They think of burgers, hotdogs, steaks and baked potatoes.  But all because the temperature may be taking a dip over the next few months doesn’t mean that you should move all of your cooking indoors.  In fact, with some lighting, some fabulous fire features and some creativity, you can whip up some great outdoor kitchen recipes and serve them to your friends and family as you enjoy the crisp, refreshing fall air.

The Appetizers

The great thing about appetizers is that you can get as elaborate or as simple with them as necessary.  Veggies and ranch dip, sour dough bread with spinach dip, and cheese and crackers with a meat platter are always a hit.  But if you want to get more “out there”, think about incorporating:

  • Quiche
  • Chicken wings with dipping sauces
  • “Do it yourself” fajitas

The Main Course

The dishes that are most remembered by your friends and family will be those that are unique, and that are tailored to match the flavors of the season.  For fall, it’s always a great idea to add some hearty protein to your plates with a touch of sweet or spiciness, such as:

  • Classic BBQ ribs
  • Apple or caramelized pork chops
  • Jerk chicken
  • Delectable long-marinated steaks

For the seafood lovers, a honey ginger salmon that’s been grilled to perfection is always a top choice.  Think about adding some sweetness or spiciness to your dishes to really kick up the heat of your main course as the temperatures outside cool down.

The Dessert

The dessert that you prepare in your autumn outdoor kitchen can and perhaps very well should include the staples, such as:

  • Pumpkin pie
  • Apple pie
  • Strawberry and rhubarb pie
  • Apples and caramel
  • Carrot cake
