The vast majority of us, however, know that we want a pool (they’re both gorgeous and therapeutic after all) but we aren’t sure exactly what we want it to look like. 1. Yourself

This may seem obvious, but it is often overlooked and understated. You already likely have a number of design ideas bouncing around. Take the time to grab a pen, a pad of paper, and to write them down. This will help you determine:

• The size of the pool
• The shape of the pool
• Where the pool will be placed (including its proximity to the home, your deck, etc.)
• The water features you will have

Once you begin writing things down, you’ll have a far more clear idea of what you should be looking for when checking into your pool design options.

Pinterest in particular is teeming with fantastic pool design ideas. We like this site because:

a) It has a lot of variety; and

b) The designs are presented in a no-pressure context

Most Pinterest users are sharing their design ideas because they love them and think that others like yourself just may love them to. Take some time and browse the site. When you have a moment, bounce back onto Facebook and look into some of the social media sites for pool companies there.
