Shasta Pools Partners with The Honor House to Salute Phoenix Area Veterans

Shasta Pools is a family owned business that was founded in 1966. Over the years, our pool company has had the privilege of offering the finest products and services to every one of our customers. And to send gratitude for our community’s unwavering support over the years, we’re taking the initiative to return the favor.

About the Honor House

Shasta has partnered with Brian Mancini, the founder of The Honor House, an organization that partners with local communities to provide complete transitional packages to meet the therapeutic needs of Veterans affected by combat.

Brian Mancini’s Story

The organization’s Founder, Brian Mancini, was born in Phoenix Arizona and spent 12 years, 8 months in the US Army as a combat medic. In July 2007, Brian was injured by a roadside bomb in Baghdad, which changed his life and career forever.

During his 3 years and 8 months of both physical and emotional healing, Brian was serendipitously introduced to Jim Pinson and Skip from Shasta through Home Depot, a company that’s been known for its many community outreach projects for wounded Veterans. Shasta was able to create a beautiful new backyard space for Brian to heal and create new memories with his family, but the story doesn’t stop there.

With the help of Brian and the creation of the Honor House, Shasta had another opportunity to build a space for another highly deserving Phoenix-area Veteran.

Tom Bishop’s Story

When Shasta approached Brian again with another opportunity to build another Veteran’s pool, Brian could only think of one person who has supported Brian and The Honor House from day one.

Double Purple Heart recipient Tom Bishop is a former Sergeant E5 from Scottsdale, Arizona. After sustaining two major injuries within a period of less than two years, Tom medically retired and spent seven months in the hospital. Tom’s transition back into civilian life was difficult, but with the help of his family and Shasta Pools, Tom and his family have a gorgeous, therapeutic space to relax, physically and mentally heal, and “turn off the world.”

“For me, it’s extra special because growing up, I lived in apartments my whole life. I never had a childhood home. We moved a lot throughout my childhood so this helps solidify the fact that this is home for now.”

Tune into the video below to listen to both Brian and Tom’s story and about this incredible organization, The Honor House.
