Innovative Designs for Contemporary Pools and Decks

Ultra chic innovative pools and decks are “in” this pool season. We’ve seen – and created – a number of cool deck designs and pools that will hopefully inspire you and help you build the backyard of your dreams.

Undulating Wooden Planks

One of the most innovative cool deck designs that we’ve seen accompany a number of contemporary pools are undulating wooden plants. Having a deck formed in a smooth, wave-like design not is not only visually stunning, but it offers great ergonomic seating.

Floating Timber Islands

Looking to create some additional seating spaces in the pool? Then consider “floating” timber islands. These wooden lily pads can also be used as stepping stones for guests to make it to one side of the pool from the other, making them an interesting alternative to a traditional bridge.

Sinking Spas

For those who may not want a permanent spa because of tastes or lack of space, then consider a sinking spa. A quick push of the button can either sink or bring a spa right to the surface of the pool. Many of these innovative pools include sinking and rising bridges and underwater tunnels so that everyone can easily hop in.

Sheet Fountains

While bubbling fountains will always be a hit, modern innovative pools are incorporating more sheet-flow scuppers into their designs to compliment a pool’s sharp, clean lines.

Glass Walls

Many cool deck designs are adding partial or full glass walls to their pool design. Not only is it fun and captivating, but having a glass wall is a great way to make pool goers and patio loungers feel more connected and comfortable.

Deck Stencils

A growing number of modern pool decks are adding additional design and flair to their decks with deck stencils. Depending on the stencils you choose, these can really add to the atmosphere and help add both interest and movement to your patio area.
