How To Create A Fall-Friendly Arizona Outdoor Living Space

With the summer months past us and the cooler months creeping up on us in Arizona, many are starting to look more indoors than out when it comes to entertaining.  But we’re here to tell you that you don’t need to forget and neglect your backyard for the next 4 to 6 months.  There are a number of things that you can do today to create a fabulous fall-friendly Arizona outdoor living space that both you and your guests are sure to enjoy, starting with:

Add Warmth With Fire Features

Where there’s fire, there’s warmth.  Interestingly enough, even of the fire features that you incorporate you in your backyard aren’t there or don’t even provide any additional warmth (i.e. fire bowls), just the presence of fire alone can trick the mind into believing that it is a warmer space.

That said, if you really wan to add some heat to your backyard or patio area, then consider adding either a fire pit or an outdoor fireplace.  When coupled with a number of overstuffed comfortable all-weather chairs and sofas, you’ll easily be able to take those winter parties outdoors.

TIP:  Incorporating an outdoor heater or two near doorways will help entice individuals outdoors, even if there is a thick layer of snow on the ground.

Take Cover

Whether it’s a covered patio, a gazebo, or even a pergola, by adding any sort of roofing you’ll be providing your guests with a sense of security from the elements.  In a pinch you can even set up a tarp or a tent in the backyard and then decorate that space to match the theme of your backyard or your event.

Let There Be Light

During the winter months, it can be pitch black by as soon as 4:30pm in many areas.  By adding additional light elements – particularly those that are festive – you can entice your guests outdoors and make that darkened space feel more welcoming.
